Straight Answers From the Shop
How much does a custom dump body cost? +
It depends on length, steel, and options (PTO, pump, tarp, tailgate style), so we quote each build individually. Because we manufacture in-house, you skip the dealer markup — call 713-455-6161 with your chassis and what you haul, and we’ll give you a straight number.
What’s the lead time on a new bed? +
Typical builds run a few weeks depending on the season and options. Repairs and installs are usually much faster — we prioritize working trucks. Call for current scheduling.
AR400 or standard steel — what do I need? +
If you haul sand, dirt, or gravel, our standard 10-gauge HouFab body with a 3/16" floor holds up well. If you haul demolition debris, concrete, or scrap, step up to a 1/4" AR400 demolition bed — it’s roughly three times harder and survives abuse that punctures mild steel.
What’s the difference between a demolition bed and a material bed? +
A material (standard) dump body has a flat floor and square sides for maximum yardage of sand, dirt, and aggregate. A demolition bed is round or semi-round in heavier AR400 steel, so jagged, heavy debris sheds clean and doesn’t destroy the floor.
Do you install what you sell? +
Yes — everything. Beds, PTOs, pumps, winches, lift gates, blowers, push axles, and used van bodies are all installed at our shop at 1124 Keyport Ln.
Can you remove my sleeper and shorten the frame? +
Yes. Sleeper removal, back panel fabrication, and frame/driveshaft shortening for day cab conversions are a specialty — see our sleeper removal page or call for an estimate.
Do you buy used equipment? +
We buy used van bodies, sleepers, and winches in good condition, and we sell from that inventory with installation available.
